Shivjyoti first traveled to India alone at age 21, it was the first of 15 pilgrimages, lead by the calling to know the Truth (in Sanskrit called Sanathan Dharma). For the 19 years since she dedicates herself to the time honoured path of Yoga.
Through extremely disciplined guidance and travelling with her spiritual guru brought her the fortune of meeting many enlightened saints and sages, her journey has been an interesting one; from travelling in the Himalayas, staying at Kumbha Mela's, representing Australia at the inaugural International Day of Yoga in Delhi, India and meeting the Prime Minister, Narendra Modi she has discovered and shares from an abundance of experience and wisdom gained through knowledge and application of the traditional path of Yoga.
Awarded the highest initiation of Sannyas in the Dasanami order of monks in 2013 and receiving blessings through lineage from Adi Shankaracharya in the Sri Alakhpuriji Siddha Peeth Parampara, following the path of Advaita Vedanta (non-duality) she dedicates herself to the path of Yoga.
Shivjyoti has developed courses and taught thousands in Meditation, Chakra Sodan and Yoga Philosophy, based in her direct experience and learnings. Her first Yoga studio opened in Burleigh Heads in 2005, Gold Coast, she has since managed a large Ashram and multiple responsibilities for her Spiritual Guru, including his personal biography. Now home in Melbourne she mentors and teaches from her Shivoham Studio.
Time with her Spiritual Master imbued countless gifts and brought the support needed to awaken talents latent within. Blessed by the mighty Himalayas she shares and has created a unique way, through the malas to connect each soul back to their calling and true dharma.
Connection, balance and service to others are Shivjyoti's forte and passion..! Shivjyoti's extensive experience in understanding the philosophical, energetic and physical elements of yoga are carefully woven into each class, to deliver a truly authentic and personalised practice. Integral to her success as a much loved and respected teacher is a genuine commitment to the well-being of all her students.
