Rudraksha are not stones, nor the seeds of any ordinary tree. In the tradition they are the tears of Shiva, wept in compassion for the world, fallen to earth and taking root as the Rudraksha tree, the eye of Rudra. For thousands of years the sincere seeker has worn them against the skin, and for good reason: Rudraksha is said to calm the heart, quiet the restless mind, and hold a subtle field of protection around the one who wears it. It carries the imprint of Shiva himself; stillness, mastery, the vast calm that sits beneath all movement.
Each bead is marked bymukhis, the natural faces that run from crown to base. The number of faces determines the bead’s character and the deity who presides over it. Most Rudraksha carry five faces. Seven is far rarer, more so the deeply defined, collector’ size Nepal beads used here.
The Seven Mukhi Rudraksha is the seat of Mahalakshmi, the goddess of wealth, beauty, fortune and grace. Seven is the number of fullness: the seven seas, the seven sages, the seven notes from which all music is built, the seven centres of the body awakened in ascent.
Lakshmi rose from the churning of the cosmic ocean and from that same churning rose Chandra, the moon. The two are kin, born of the same depths, and the Seven Mukhi carries that lunar, receptive current: the quiet tide through which abundance truly arrives, not seized, but received. It is worn to draw prosperity that lasts rather than fleets, to lift the weight of material struggle, and to open the settled inner ground in which wealth and devotion can grow together.
Silver is the metal of the moon, cooling by nature, calming to the body, and traditionally the metal of Lakshmi herself, in which wealth is kept and honoured. Its lunar quality mirrors and strengthens the Seven Mukhi’s own receptive energy, while its caps cradle and preserve each sacred bead. Every cap and charm on this mala is cast to a custom Shivoham design.
This Mala: Silver capped Rudraksha, hand-strung and crowned with a rare collector’s-size Seven Mukhi guru bead from Nepal, the presiding bead, and the seat of the mala’s grace. Every Rudraksha in this mala is genuine, high quality Nepal Rudraksha, sourced through a single Nepali family we have worked with across generations, never from open markets, never dyed or imitated. Seven Mukhi is among the rarer faces, and a collector’s size seven faced bead of this clarity is rarer still. Each guru bead is hand selected by Shivjyoti. The mala is strung, capped and finished by hand in Melbourne, then consecrated and blessed before it reaches you.
Rudraksha is a living seed. Keep it dry when possible, let it darken and deepen with wear, and oil it lightly from time to time with a natural oil to preserve its lustre. Worn with care, it will serve you for a lifetime.
To ensure the safe and efficient delivery of your order, we express post all orders within Australia and use ‘track and trace’ couriers around the world. All our deliveries use a scanning system that follows the progress of your delivery and photographs the parcel where it’s left ‘in a safe place’.
If a problem arises you can follow up directly with the company involved, and proof of delivery and/or the status of the package will be supplied. Orders leave the Shivoham Gallery Monday to Friday and are on their way within 48 hours from when your order is placed.
