About Rudraksha Beads Meaning & the Mala

Rudraksha is a seed of consciousness

Rudraksha Beads are highly revered as the tears of Shiva and are said to connect the wearer seeker directly to the source of existence and to pure consciousness.

ABOUT RUDRAKSHA BEADS

According to the ancient Vedic scriptures, Rudraksha Beads were formed from the tears (Aksha) of Lord Shiva (Rudra). They have always been used by Yogi's, Saints, Sages and Mystics from India, Nepal, China, and across Asia for balancing the mind, emotions and creating the right environment for meditation and peaceful actions to bring about the desired goals in life. Overall Rudraksha seeds are known to assist in meditation, stress relief, healing the body and engendering positive changes.

The Rudraksha seed is a blessing to keep and wear because of its powerful vibration which protects against all kinds of negative influences and energy. It also protects against radiation and the stress emitted by modern technology.

It keeps the bodies bioenergy in balance and harmonises the environment around oneself or in the place the seeds are kept. It has been revealed to affect up to 100 metres around, protecting the wearer and environment from all kinds of negative energy. This radiance of protective energy is particularly felt at home or where you mostly keep the Rudraksha.

You will notice a sense of peace and after some time, fewer disturbances within your environment, this is extremely beneficial for meditation, study and areas needing great focus or concentration. Ideally, Rudraksha is worn at all times or kept close to the skin, it is a sacred seed that emits potent protective energy, enabling the wearer to achieve their greater potential.

FINDING GENUINE RUDRAKSHA MALAS

Traditionally malas were always dealt with by people who held it as their sacred duty and this is how we continue at Shivoham. For generations, people did only this, and also made their living out of it, but fundamentally it was a sacred duty of offering it to people. But once the demand became so much due to their powers, commerce came in.

Today in India there is another seed called badraksh which is poisonous and grows extensively in Uttar Pradesh. To look at, both these seeds are the same, you cannot make out any difference, only if you take it in your hand and you are sensitive, you will know the difference. This imposter seed is more readily and cheaply available but should not be worn on the body, these seeds are nowadays being sold widely as authentic beads. It is extremely important that you get your mala from a trusted source, an ashram, a holy person or from the Himalayas itself.

Shivoham Malas are sourced through a reputed family, who has, for generations sourced, cleaned and shared these magical gifts from the Himalayas. Our extensive processes and blessing ceremony ensure the reverence and respect from Shiva to you is honoured and maintained.

RESEARCH

Amongst several one of the most reputable and well-known research papers was published by Dr. Suhas Roy of the prestigious Indian Institute of Technology in Banaras;

Dr. Roy's research confirmed that the healing powers of Rudraksha beads flow from their electro-magnetic properties. When Rudraksha beads are placed over the heart, they act to stabilise the heartbeat. Similar to magnets, the beads work on the principle of Dynamic Polarity. Blood circulation and heartbeat automatically induce a magnetic field around the body and particularly the heart region. In essence, Rudraksha beads help bring about the well-known "relaxation response" which is the ultimate goal of meditation.

RUDRAKSHA FOR MEDITATION

Rudraksha is used for meditation and is the only seed that absorbs all positive energy, storing and thus magnifying it over time. We use the Rudraksha in the right hand, and repeat one mantra per bead, implanting in the seed the vibration of liberation which is then kept with us (through the beads) at all times regardless of where our thoughts may dwell.

The longer it’s worn and used for meditation (to repeat mantra) the more powerful it becomes, constantly emitting a positive and pure vibration that settles the energy of any different environment and neutralising the thoughts of others. After some time one feels that something is missing when not worn.

CONSTELLATIONS

Generally, the different planetary constellations have an effect on the emotions of each individual. It is not unusual for doctors to say the full moon nights are an extremely busy time in an emergency and they dread a full moon on a weekend or holiday because so many patients are brought in. For a spiritual person, this can work in their favour if managed in the right direction, offering greater possibilities for spiritual evolution and transformation.

There are several subtle yet powerful influences that govern our lives that we may or may not be aware of, yet looking back we can see there have been several instances where we lost control of our emotions and reactions in certain circumstances. When our emotions run rampant we are privy to unfavourable outcomes. To harmonise the energy within oneself, and protect against the changeable nature of the world and universe Yogis have always encouraged the use and wearing of Rudraksha.

Wearing Rudraksha gradually releases oneself from the fluctuating emotions and protects against psychic disturbances, to be gifted a Rudraksha is a great blessing and sign of good luck.

Rudraksha Malas

Usually, the beads are strung together as a mala. Traditionally, a mala has 108 beds plus one, the Bindu or guru beads. There must always be a Bindu to the mala, otherwise, the energy becomes cyclical, the Bindu beads channels the energy back into the Japa mala and gives the benefit of the positive energy to the wearer. A mala is something that can be worn all the time.

Benefits of Wearing a Rudraksha mala

Rudraksha is a very helpful support because it creates a cocoon of your own energy. It harmonises any environment around you so that you feel comfortable, relaxed and easily able to express yourself.

Rudraksha is a shield against negative energies

It is also a shield against negative energies. It is possible for some people to use negative energies to cause harm to someone else, or there may be a very bad energy in a place where you live or work. A rudraksha is a kind of shield against this and stops you from feeling the ill effects of any environment, situation or person.

Panchmukhi (five faced) Rudraksha seeds

The number of faces a bead can have varies from a single face up to 21 faces. Five-faced beads or Panchmukhi is safe and good for everyone. It is for general wellbeing, health and freedom. It lowers your blood pressure, calms your nerves and brings a certain calmness and alertness in your nervous system.

If you are a balanced person and you function sensibly in your life, prosperity will come. It happens naturally when energies function well. If you have chosen to purify your life and be balance always then Rudraksha Malas are a valuable tool and aid. When someone is walking the spiritual path, he wants to utilise every support on the way to enhance himself, and mala beads are definitely a good support.Â
