Benefits of Wearing Rudraksha Rudraksha is a very helpful support because it creates a cocoon of your own energy. It harmonises any environment around you so that you feel comfortable, relaxed and easily able to express yourself.
Rudraksha: A shield against negative energies It is also a shield against negative energies. It is possible for some people to use negative energies to cause harm to someone else, or there may be a very bad energy in a place where you live or work. A rudraksha is a kind of shield against this and stops you from feeling the ill effects of any environment, situation or person. You may still be aware of it, but it will not effect you.
Panchmukhi Rudraksha The number of faces a bead can have varies from a single face up to 21 faces. Five-faced beads or panchmukhi is safe and good for everyone. It is for general wellbeing, health and freedom. It lowers your blood pressure, calms your nerves and brings a certain calmness and alertness in your nervous system.
If you are a balanced person and you function sensibly in your life, prosperity will come. It happens naturally when energies function well. If you have chosen to purify your life and be balance always then Rudraksha malas are a valuable tool and aid. When someone is walking the spiritual path, he wants to utilise every support on the way to enhance himself, and mala beads are definitely a good support.
To wear Rudraksha is to move towards Shiva Consciousness which is the ultimate truth for a yogi. Shiva is the source of all that is Yoga, and that leads to union, so in reaching Shiva consciousness we reach the infinite that is beyond anything. This is the true goal of Yoga and the true purpose of wearing Rudraksha. Rudraksha contains the energy of Shiva.
You can soak your mala (not the tassle or silver) in melted ghee for 24 hours. You may need to heat the ghee slightly so it is liquid when you take the mala out and dry any excess ghee off with a cloth or paper towel, leave on a window sill in sun to dry completely for 1 - 2 days. A good time to do this process is on the full moon - for purification.
To care for the beads sometimes we also use Almond oil, on your hands rub the oil and beads between your palms, allowing the oil to soak into each part of the seed. This keeps the Rudrakhsa in excellent condition and looking good.
If you want to do a full ceremony, after soaking the mala in ghee you may pour a little milk mixed with a teaspoon of honey and tablespoon of yogurt over the beads and rinse with enough warm water, use a sacred vessel for this as it is a process of worship and reverence towards rather than purification so it's up to you how much you would like to do. While doing this ceremony (abhishek) you can repeat Mahamritunjaya Mantra, which we send with each Rudrakhsa Meditation Mala.
May your Meditation be Blessed and Divine.
